What do we mean by Meeting Rhythms?
A rhythm, by definition, is a “strong, regular, repeated pattern of movement or sound.” Think of a heartbeat – it beats consistently in order to push blood out (actions and activity) and enables your body to be functional. In your own work environment, daily tasks need a regular heartbeat. These daily tasks are important in ensuring your employees do not lose faith in you. This can be represented in a timely payroll, maintenance, and more.
Your meeting rhythm will change depending on the task or project. Projects all have different meeting rhythms with the same end goal of completing the tasks within a time period. This highlights the importance of each project – the more important, the tighter the cadence of that meeting rhythm should be. For example, if a highly important project that must be completed within the next 3 days is your responsibility, there needs to be a check-in every 3 hours to avoid ambiguity and stay productive.
